R8 FUTSAL

What is Futsal?

Futsal is a sport derived from soccer, played on a concrete or hardwood court much smaller than a soccer field, with no walls. Futsal is a 5v5 game, including a goalkeeper, using a smaller and less bouncy ball. Futsal is credited by many great soccer players who developed their skills playing futsal while growing up, such as Ronaldinho, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Neymar. Futsal challenges players to be technical and creative, and improvise in small spaces.

Philosophy

Our purpose is to provide a positive learning environment focused on encouraging the players to be creative and confident, and building a strong foundation of skills while having fun playing the game.

We want to develop smart players who are confident with the ball on their feet and know what to do with it.

Benefits of Futsal

  1. Studies concluded that players touch the ball six times more often than in a soccer game.

  2. Challenge players decision making skills, reflexes, reaction.

  3. Develops the confidence in players to attack and defend in 1v1 situations

  4. Encourages players to be creative in tight areas to get around the opponent.

  5. The heavy ball and size of the court encourage players to be more technical, instead of more physical.

  6. Demands players to rotate in all positions, improving their knowledge and ability to play in different roles
